Wine Tasting & Tour In Chianti Rufina

Castello del Trebbio was built in the twelfth century.
It is surrounded by 350 hectares estate (54 hectares vineyards, 10.000 olive trees) and is bordered by native forest.
Once owned by the Pazzi family, it was the scene of the attempted murder of the Medici brothers in 1478.
The castle was given to the Medici family who changed it from a fortress into a villa for the bishop of Fiesole.
The current family bought the estate in 1968 and have restored to respecting its architecture .
They currently live in the castle.

During the 50 minutes tour of the castle’s courtyard and private chapel and the cellars
the group will hear a brief history of the castle and of the Pazzi conspiracy and
it will be able to view the Pazzi coat of arms sculpted by Donatello.
The tour concludes with a visit to the old castle’s wine cellars where the wine is aged and the oil is stored.
The group will learn about the Chianti region and how the wine and oil is produced in Tuscany.

The
grounds offer many beautiful photo opportunities and after the tasting the group
is welcome to wander amongst the grapevines and olive trees.

Brunello Tour and Tasting

Visit to a famous farm at  Montalcino

Tenute Silvio Nardi are 80 hectars of vineyards in an unspoiled - and well loved - part of central Tuscany:
at Montalcino, whose symbol is its great red wine, Brunello.
Silvio Nardi founded the estate here at Casale del Bosco; since 1985 it has been run by his youngest daughter, Emilia.
Emilia Nardi knows she can depend on Casale's special and distinctive territory
to produce a contemporary and elegant Brunello.
She has invested single-mindedly in the vineyards in this harmonious natural setting -
as any tasting of her fine wines will attest.
Each of her signature wines expresses the differing character of Sangiovese when it is grown at Montalcino.
The estate's vineyards are situated between 140 and 420 metres above sea level:
some extend north-west of Montalcino on the hills around Casale del Bosco,
while others are located to the north of it at Tenuta di Bibbiano and to the south-east at Manachiara,
where the precious cru of the same name originates.
Your guide will be  Joerg Kollnberger
During the visit you will be given technical and historical explanations about the wines
and afterwards there is the wine tasting.
